Over 3,600 runners, joggers and walkers filled the University of Limerick on Sunday, October 4, to take part in this year’s Cook Medical Mini Marathon.
Participants travelled from all over Ireland to take on the 5 km and 10 km routes, many of them running in support of charities close to their hearts. Fundraising for the day is expected to exceed €60,000, a testament to the generosity that the event brings out year after year.
Carla DiBenedetto, HR director and race ambassador at Cook Medical, reflected on the day: “Every year, this event is a reminder of what this community is capable of when it comes together for a good cause. For so many of our participants, this isn’t just a race, it’s a way to give back. Cook Medical is proud to stand behind an event that means so much to so many.”
John Cleary, race director, echoed that sentiment: “It’s a privilege to see this event grow year after year, but what stays the same is the reason people show up — for each other, and for the causes closest to them. Watching that play out across the course today was a genuine highlight, and I’m grateful to everyone who took part, volunteered, or cheered from the sidelines.”
The Mini Marathon brings people together to support both the physical wellbeing of the community and the causes its people care about.
Cook Medical’s long-standing sponsorship of the event reflects its wider commitment to the Limerick area, where the company has built deep connections over 30 years. Cook is grounded in its purpose: to empower customers, patients, employees, and communities to reach their full potential.
