CIRSE 2019: Zilver PTX symposium, EndoWars challenge, Beacon® Tip returns

CIRSE 2019

One of the largest and most prestigious conferences in Europe, the 2019 Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE) will focus on delivering the most up-to-date information on both novel and established minimally invasive therapies.

Last year in Lisbon, nearly 7,000 healthcare providers from 84 countries attended, enabling Cook Medical to connect with physicians around the globe and provide them with multiple opportunities to learn about disease states and train on Cook devices.

This year, Cook Medical will host a symposium titled “Paclitaxel: The Latest in its Safety and Efficacy” at 13:00 on Saturday, 7 Sept., in Room 117.

Dr. Michael Dake will serve as moderator. He will also present “Follow the data: Zilver PTX global data analysis.” Dr. Martin Delle will present the latest results on Swedepad, a trial examining benefits of drug-eluting technology for peripheral arterial disease that has recently started re-enrolling patients. Dr. Eric Secemsky will then speak about “Paclitaxel devices: Real-world evaluation of survival in peripheral vascular revascularization.” Dr. Thomas Zeller will present “Recent meta-analysis: How does this impact my daily clinical practice?”

CIRSE will also see the return of EndoWars. This year, fellows and residents are invited to participate in a hands-on challenge that tests their embolization coil deployment and packing skills. To compete, participants must register at the Cook Medical booth.

Competition times are:

  • 7 September, 14:30 – 16:30
  • 8 September, 09:30 – 14:30
  • 9 September, 09:30 – 14:30
  • 10 September, 09:30 – 14:30

The physician who produces the tightest coil mass and fastest time earns an opportunity to attend a suitable Cook Medical European Vista® Education and Training course. This opportunity is open to physicians working in Europe at the time of the European Vista. The winner will be announced 10 September at 16:00.Stop by the Cook booth to get hands-on with the Beacon® Tip catheter. Experience the difference, and see why physicians can’t wait to get it back.

Also visit the booth to check out our product displays, see what devices support your vascular procedures from start to finish, and enjoy a hot cup of coffee.

Drs. Dake, Delle, Secemsky, and Zeller are paid consultants of Cook Medical.
